GenomicEpi Terms of Use

These terms cover genomicepi.com and www.genomicepi.com. Separately hosted services, including Co-author Constellation and Substack, have their own terms.

GenomicEpi is an independent educational website operated by Krisandra Allen, Seattle, Washington, United States. Questions and corrections: [email protected]. Our Privacy Notice explains how information is handled; it is not a request for blanket consent.

Using the information

For education, not care or official guidance. Resources and visualizations support learning and situational awareness. They do not provide medical or veterinary care, individualized advice, or official public-health instructions. Using the site or contacting us does not establish a professional-client relationship. Consult qualified professionals and relevant authorities for health, regulatory, or emergency decisions; do not delay appropriate help because of this site.

Check the source. Data may be incomplete, delayed, corrected, or based on different definitions. Automated updates can fail; a timestamp does not guarantee every source is current. Verify consequential information and read each chart’s methods and limitations. We may revise, archive, or remove material and cannot promise to find or correct every error immediately.

Interpret sequence data carefully. Public sequence collections may not represent disease occurrence or transmission. Patterns can reflect sampling, submission, reporting, and data cleaning. Genetic relatedness alone does not establish direct transmission between people, animals, or places.

Verify listings. Confirm dates, eligibility, fees, and availability with organizers, employers, or publishers. Listings do not guarantee quality, accreditation, employment, or admission. GenomicEpi is not an official service of an employer, university, government agency, or data provider; links and attribution do not imply endorsement or representation.

External providers control their own content, privacy practices, and terms. Newsletter subscriptions, including any paid subscriptions, are governed by the applicable terms presented on Substack.

Reuse and submissions

Reusing content. You may link to public pages. For copying, adapting, or redistributing material, follow its stated license or obtain permission where required. Original text, graphics, and code may be protected by copyright. Third-party datasets, publications, maps, software, and other material retain their owners’ rights and license conditions; these terms do not relicense them. Fair use, public-domain use, and other legal rights remain available.

When sharing charts or reports, identify GenomicEpi, preserve source attribution and limitations, and include the page link and access or data date where practical. Follow source citation requirements and do not imply an adaptation is endorsed by GenomicEpi.

Submitting resources. Share only accurate information you have the right to provide. Do not send patient details, confidential case information, private medical or genetic information, passwords, or material that infringes others’ rights.

By intentionally submitting material for a public listing, you give us limited permission, to the extent you hold the rights, to review, edit for clarity, and publish it for that listing. You retain ownership. This does not authorize publication of private correspondence or private contact details merely because you contacted us. We may decline or remove listings. Messages and submissions do not enroll you in the newsletter.

Responsible use

Do not distribute malicious code or spam, impersonate others, attempt unauthorized access, defeat security controls, or intentionally disrupt the site. Do not use research metadata to identify patients or others whose identities are not intended to be public.

For substantial automated access, contact us about suitable data sources. Respect access limits and third-party licenses. We may restrict abusive access; this does not limit uses protected by applicable law.

Availability and your rights

To the extent permitted by law, the site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Features may change or be discontinued. The operator is not liable for indirect or consequential losses to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud where exclusion is prohibited. Mandatory consumer and privacy rights remain unaffected.

To the extent these terms form an enforceable agreement, Washington law governs, subject to mandatory protections where you live. These terms do not require arbitration, waive class actions, or impose an exclusive court venue. Contacting us is not required before exercising statutory rights or contacting a regulator.

We will update the effective date when these terms change. Material changes will be identified, with additional notice or agreement where required. Changes are not intended to retroactively remove existing rights.
